Duchamp, Magritte, Dalì. I Rivoluzionari del '900
Bologna
Magritte’s Le Chateau de Pyrenees (The Castle of the Pyrenees) 1959, the famous Gioconda L.H.O.O.Q. (1919/1964) by Duchamp and Salvador Dalí’s Surrealist Essay (1934): these are some of the 180 works coming from the Israel Museum in Jerusalem which are featured in Bologna at Palazzo Albergati till February 25, 2018. The exhibition is part of Bologna Welcome Card network. A special discount will be applied to the Card holders. Curated by Adina Kamien-Kazhdan, “Duchamp, Magritte, Dalì. I Rivoluzionari del '900” (Duchamp, Magritte, Dalì. The revolutionaries of the 1900s) is an extraordinary exhibition dedicated to the artists who revolutionised the 20th century art: Duchamp, Magritte, Dalì, Ernst, Tanguy, Man Ray, Picabia, Pollock and many others, all together to let people know about a period of great and bright creativity. Through a thematic path, the exhibit offers a complete view of this avant-garde heritage by reviewing all its artistic expressions and techniques, including painting, sculpture, assembly, photomontage and collage. The exhibition is divided into five sections: Amazing Approaches; Automatism and subconscious; Biomorphism and metamorphosis; Desire: muse and abuse; The dreamlike landscape. The outfitting is by the great architect Oscar Tusquets Blanca, who on this occasion has rebuilt the famous Mae West room by Dalì and the installation "1,200 Sacks of Coal" designed by Duchamp for the Exposition Internationale du Surréalisme in 1938. The exhibition is produced and organized by Arthemisia, in collaboration with the Israel Museum In Jerusalem. Further information and updates www.palazzoalbergati.com
