From 5 September to 25 October 2026, the Villa Smeraldi - Museum of Rural Life and the Municipality of Bentivoglio present an exhibition featuring a selection of the more than 8,000 photographs and slides donated by Denis Gavina, a proud resident of Bentivoglio, photographer by passion and chronicler of everyday life by vocation.
Riding his bicycle with camera in hand and driven by a deep connection to his hometown, Denis documented the transformation of the rural landscape of the Bologna plain from the 1970s to 2014.
Through his photographs, the exhibition explores the distinctive features and evolution of the agricultural landscape, closely linked to the changing nature of work in the fields.
