Strolling through the corridors, stepping into the wings, treading the boards of the stage or discovering silent and hidden rooms: this is Teatro, an immersive site-specific and itinerant performance for twenty spectators at a time, conceived by the Italian-Australian duo Cuocolo/Bosetti and designed to question the nature of theatre buildings. 

Equipped with audio-guides, the spectators will be taken on an exploration of the Teatro Arena del Sole, on a journey through places that are not usual or totally unknown to the public. The ‘exploratory walk’ is a practice that Cuocolo/Bosetti have been carrying out since 2013, with numerous performances, including The Walk and Underground, which have won important awards and been presented at international festivals in more than a hundred cities.

A performative itinerary built on an interweaving of personal and collective biography, in a continuous mixture of truth and fiction: an authorial imprint typical of the duo, whose productions are not conceived as stage sets, but as ‘reality traps’ in which art and life, actor and character overlap.

In Teatro, every single space acquires a narrative dimension: the performer talks about herself but also with each individual spectator; theatre as a building is investigated in its power to create and build a community, in its being a common house.
