In February 2024, the Duse theatre will host the musical 'Sister Act', which, with five Tony Award nominations in 2011, is one of the most popular musicals among audiences.
The show, based on the '92 film of the same name, tells the story of Deloris Van Cartier, a nightclub singer who despite herself becomes the only witness to a murder. To protect her, the police put her safely in a convent where she will be forced to disguise herself as a nun and adopt a behaviour that does not suit her. She will struggle to adapt to the strict rules imposed by the Mother Superior, but will end up winning everyone over, turning an out-of-tune choir of nuns into a musical phenomenon.
The music is by eight-time Oscar winner Alan Menken and the authors of the lyrics are Cheri Steinkellner and Bill Steinkellner.
