Bologna
For one evening, we will be inspired by great figures who were considered mad by a world that sometimes seems even crazier than they were. A journey that will take us from Alda Merini to Van Gogh, from John McEnroe to the "madmen" of the village, exploring the fine line between madness and genius, madness and art, madness and life.
Charles Bukowski said that mental health is an imperfection, while Baudelaire claimed that wise men don't have dreams as beautiful as those of the mad. Nietzsche believed it was better to be mad on your own terms than wise with the opinions of others. Pirandello thought there should be fewer things to reason about and more things to go mad over.
This evening aims to pay tribute to those who saw and experienced the world differently, finding in madness an act of resistance and creativity. It is an invitation to reflect on the beauty of thinking outside the box and embracing the freedom to be oneself without fear of judgment.
