Sunday, November 5 and Monday, November 6 at Teatro Arena del Sole, in the Thierry Salmon Hall, the performance The World Elsewhere (Il mondo altrove) takes the stage.
The World Elsewhere is a choreographic creation in the form of a danced ritual that celebrates the movement of an unexplored world. Four finely adorned shamanic figures lead a magical, timeless ceremony. The movement of their bodies and the features of their faces guard and offer us a ritual from a possible other tradition, enacted within a sacred space that embodies the outcome of a harmonious coexistence between the natural habitat and human action.
Tracing an ideal path between West and East, the performance unfolds in a gestural dialogue as an expression of mutual support, perpetual offering, universal and celestial communion.
Faced with this physical language of an unknown civilization, we become guests invited to step beyond the boundaries of what we know, discovering ourselves as strangers among strangers.
To welcome a new world is to come into contact with a system of signs that interweaves the human, animal, and plant realms — challenging something within ourselves in order to rediscover our humanity in the reflection of encounter.
