On Sunday, January 25 2026, at 9:00 p.m., at the Teatro Ebe Stignani in Imola, the show L. The Chaotic Journey of Leonardo da Vinci in Romagna will take the stage.
Summer of 1502. Romagna is under the rule of Cesare Borgia, the Pope’s son. The powerful prince summons Leonardo as his “minister of war”: he must make his lands unassailable, his fortresses impregnable, his armies invincible. Leonardo, in perhaps the most frantic and adventurous period of his life, travels across Romagna far and wide. He observes, listens, reflects, and notes everything in his inseparable notebook, known today to scholars as the “Codex L.”
A story full of things that seem destined for solid glory and instead vanish into nothing. And of others that seem to end before they even begin and, on the contrary, become eternal. A story full of events that happen far too early or far too late. Full of deafening noise and inexplicable silences. Full of popes, painters, engineers, and no fewer strange animals.
Written and performed by Roberto Mercadini. A production of Sillaba società cooperativa.
