Falò di San Nicolò

"... The bonfire of San Nicolò was lit by pupils on the main square. We would go out with candles from the San Girolamo Church chanting a ritornello to the patron saint. With their savings they would pay five baiocchi to the Compagnia del santissimo Sacramento di San Girolamo for a drop of wax..."

For centuries, as every year, the bonfire of San Nicolò comes to life in Tossignano at 7 pm. 

During the evening

• polenta with ragù

• piadina

• roasted chestnuts

• mulled wine.
