Barbarossa

From September 19 to 21, 2025, the legend of Barbarossa will come alive again on the streets of Medicina. On the occasion of the 34th edition of the Medicina festival, the castle is preparing to open its doors to welcome Emperor Frederick I of Swabia, known as “the Barbarossa.”

Throughout the weekend, the historic center will be enveloped in a magical medieval atmosphere, enlivened by some two thousand figures who will populate the squares and streets. The main events include the “Caursa dal dog e tri,” the Serpent's Palio, the Imperial Dinner and the impressive Imperial Procession.
