The Carnival in Sala Bolognese and its districts is mainly aimed at young children and takes place on the Sundays of late January and early February. The festivities begin on February 1 with the Carnival celebration in Osteria Nuova, continue on Sunday, February 8 with the event in the main town of Sala Bolognese, and conclude on February 15 with the celebration in Padulle.
The event comes alive with parades of allegorical floats, and along the streets, you can enjoy local treats like crescentine, piadine, sabadoni, castagnacci, and mulled wine.
From the floats, carefully prepared by local carnival associations, a shower of confetti, balloons, and stuffed animals is released.
