The Manaresi winery stands high on the Bella Vista hill, at the centre of its 39 hectares, 13 of which are vineyards, with views over Bologna and the entire plain.
It is dedicated to Paolo Manaresi (1908–1991), artist and maternal grandfather of Donatella Agostoni, who owns the winery together with her husband Fabio Bottonelli.“For us, making wine means practising good farming: we put our faces and our hands into it”.
The soils are typically clayey, formed by the ancient breakdown of Pliocene marls and sandstones, with gravel veins; the area’s thousand-year-old vocation for winegrowing is well documented.
The cellar, equipped to respect the grapes, is built underground beneath an early twentieth-century rural house.
The wines are certified organic, produced exclusively from grapes hand-picked into crates, with a careful, non-invasive winemaking approach.
