The Water Towers of Budrio, originally constructed in 1912 and serving as the town's aqueduct for nearly a century, have undergone a significant transformation. Now converted into a vibrant, multi-purpose center, they stand as a powerful example of urban regeneration, effectively shifting the site from a historical source of water to a dynamic source of culture.
In October 2025, the LE TORRI Club was established. This dynamic ecosystem is the successful outcome of a collaborative co-design effort between Fondazione Entroterre, the Municipality of Budrio, and ATER Fondazione.
The project capitalizes on the Towers' unique architecture, crafting a hybrid and versatile space that can seamlessly transform into a concert hall, a cutting-edge laboratory, a performance venue, an artistic residency hub, or a lively dancefloor. The Club's fundamental strength lies in its innovative management model. This approach views the entire performing arts ecosystem not just as a product, but as a living, breathing process energized by the active participation of citizens, artists, and industry professionals.
This inclusive model culminates in the creation of the collective work, "La Memoria dell’Acqua" (The Memory of Water)—a powerful community performance. It brings together the Orchestra Senzaspine, the Collettivo Zoopalco, and the local citizenry, who are invited not just to share their stories but to become active co-creators in the artistic process.
With a spectacularly diverse program—ranging from electronic music, jazz, and classical concerts to children's theatre, stand-up comedy, and contemporary drama—Le Torri Club is rapidly elevating the venue into a powerful symbol of cultural renaissance, poised to redefine the future narrative of the region. The venue's commitment to hosting artistic residencies highlights its unique mission, opening its doors to an international community of performers and creators.
The Club actively invites proposals for experimental artistic projects that are driven, in particular, by the desire to engage with the "other"—whether that means integrating with the local community or collaborating with creative partners from different countries and cultural backgrounds.
