If you already took a peek at our tips on what do to in Bologna when it's too hot and you're into swimming pools, here are some useful proposals for spending a relaxing day or afternoon away from the city dullness while taking an unwinding swim.
The territory of Bologna offers plenty of solutions, located both close to the urban area and deep in the countryside, suitable for every taste and need. Believe us, you won't regret the seaside!
Bologna is particularly appreciated for its indoor pools, a precious shelter during the winter, but, as it is normal, it counts fewer open-air spots for swimming enthusiasts.
The historic piscina Sterlino is a must-try for those not wishing to stray too far. Located within easy reach in the Murri district, it has been a guarantee of relax and wellness in Bologna for many years. The pool is open Monday to Friday from 12:30 PM to 7:00 PM, and on Saturdays and Sundays from 10:30 AM to 6:00 PM. Hours may be subject to change.

The solarium and outdoor pool are open every day until 7:30 PM; they open at 10:00 AM on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, at 9:00 AM on weekends, and at 12:30 PM on Wednesdays.

King in Casalecchio, from PalaZola to Conca del Sole, Chalet Valsarena and Free Beach Pool, the territory teems with swimming pools and green landscapes, where small and large pools and green lawns of beach umbrellas will be welcoming you warmly.
Also in the Apennines, you can find: within the Porretta spa circuit, the Valverde pool; in Castiglione dei Pepoli, the Val di Sole pool; and the Rivaverde pool in Gaggio Montano.
The municipal pools in Porretta Terme and Monghidoro are set in lush green areas and offer activities for all ages. Porretta Terme features a 50-meter pool, a children’s pool, diving board, water slide, green spaces, beach volleyball, gym, and swimming, diving, and apnea courses. Monghidoro, managed by AICS, has two heated pools, loungers, tennis and beach volleyball courts, and offers summer camps and sports courses during the summer season.
