B&B Antico Mulino

Nestled among centuries-old oak trees, just 5 km from Rocchetta Mattei, the Antico Mulino B&B was born from the restoration of an 18th-century mill that had belonged to the same family for generations.

Entirely built of stone, with wooden floors, the building has undergone a careful conservative restoration, aimed at preserving its original charm. Carefully selected furnishings and period objects contribute to recreating the authentic atmosphere of a late 19th-century Bolognese Apennine dwelling.

The rooms, each with unique characteristics, tell stories of family and territory:

• Room Ruffilla, dedicated to the great-great-grandmother of the same name, has original late 19th-century frescoes decorating the walls and ceiling. It is furnished with period furniture, has a small sitting room with armchairs and a large adjoining private bathroom.
• Room Volpina, created in the attic, is designed for a romantic stay. Equipped with a double bed, it can also be configured as a family room thanks to the presence of two additional single beds.

• Room Marcolfa is distinguished by its panoramic view over the Limentra river valley. It includes a wrought iron double bed and an adjoining small room with a single bed, an ideal solution for those who want peace and privacy.

During the summer season, the garden equipped with a gazebo, sun loungers and deckchairs offers space to relax in the open air. In the evening, it is possible to observe the Milky Way under a clear sky, accompanied by the sounds of nature. In late summer and early autumn, the nights are enriched by the suggestive roaring of the deer.

Breakfast is served in one convivial room. It is the ideal time to discover nature and cultural itineraries: historic villages, sanctuaries, castles, caves, waterfalls and typical local trattorias. Particular attention is paid to Rocchetta Mattei, with curiosities and insights related to the figure of Count Cesare Mattei.
