The building still keeps much of the original structure, although it withstood a substantial restoration in the early 20th century. The church was probably completed in the first half of the 12th century; it has a single-aps plan, and the walls are built with square sandstone blocks, harmoniously connected together (especially at the façade). The sober interior is characterized by a monumental colonnade with faux-Corinthian capitals, decorated with festoons and abstract, animal or phytomorphic motifs. The part which shows the best tolerance to the stress of time is the aps, with its fine architectural decoration which originally spanned over various structures, while now it stands out mostly because of the splendid geometrical and vegetal decoration of the windows.
