Historians believe that this small town was the seat of a now lost Ghibelline fortress. Nowadays, the most notable attraction is the little and beautiful one-nave Romanesque church, within which some fourteenth-century frescoes and a precious stained-glass window in Renaissance style painted with the stove enamel technique are retained.
Grecchia is a small village not far from Gabba, famous for hosting the ruins of the Church of S. Lorenzo, probably built in the same period of Gabba’s Romanesque Church and partially disappeared due to the ground subsidence. From the church’s ruins it is possible to enjoy a breathtaking view over the surrounding landscape.
