The Regia Accademia Filarmonica di Bologna (Royal Philharmonic Academy of Bologna), founded in 1666 with the motto “unitate melos”, d.h. “Music in sharing”, became one of the leading European musical institutions in the 1700s, so much so that Mozart was also a student and achieved the “Maestro composer” diploma.
The Academy also features an Archive in the rooms of the Palazzo Carrati that can be visited by appointment and houses a priceless documentary and bibliographical heritage including acts, books and manuscripts.
