Traditional local cookies. According to the original recipe, the filling has to be prepared with mustard and plum jam. These cookies are also called “Raviole di San Giuseppe” because they used to be cooked to celebrate Saint Joseph’s day.
Ingredients
- 200 g flour
- 100 g butter
- 100 g sugar
- 1 egg black
- plum jam or Mostarda Bolognese (spicy fruit preserve)
- a pinch of salt
Preparation
Knead flour, sugar, egg, butter and a pinch of salt. Roll out a 4mm-thick pastry then prepare circular pieces with diameter of 10cm and fill them with black plum jam or Mostarda Bolognese. Bake them (180°) until golden. Serve them with powdered sugar.
