Bologna
La Girobussola's association, who won the first prize in IT.A.CÀ Festival of Responsible Tourism, presenting "Bologna in tutti sensi" ("Bologna's every sense")'s project, promotes visually impaired people's mobility and sensorial experiences to everybody want to explore the infinite possibilities behind the sight. Our most important aim is making a complete experience of traveling possible to everybody, even who can't see. An experience of traveling which is meant as meeting and an exchange with an other community, through cultural and artistic patrimony's esteem. We have defined different cultural itineraries which focus on multi-sensorial approach to the spacial understanding and architectural awareness. We furnish our guests various typhlo-pedagogic material - for instance, a set of tactile maps - in order to integrate a not-visual comprehension. It is possible to visit Bologna with us following two different possibilities: a. You can join one of our - several and monthly updated - itineraries' proposals, which usually last one, two or three days (but even more, if you like!). They can be organized on a particular event which is scheduled in the rich Bologna's cultural landscape. That can be just a taste of what we can visit together: Piazza Maggiore, the main square, and all the really important monuments which are located around it: Basilica of San Petronio, Palazzo Comunale, Palazzo del Podestà, Palazzo Re Enzo, Neptune's fountain, Sala Borsa library), typical food and wine-tasting in the Quadrilatero market, the two most famous medieval towers: Garisenda and Asinelli, a cocktail in the Jewish Ghetto, "Seven churches" of Santo Stefano, Archiginnasio, Sanctuary of San Luca on the neighboring hills, laboratory of traditional handmade pasta, Basilica of San Francesco, Pratello's road, Bologna's History Museum… And if you are feeling sporty, we have some trekking initiatives! Challenging hike on Bregoli's path, which starts at the Talon Naturalistic Park and ends on the top of Guardia's hill, where Sanctuary of San Luca is located. After that, an energetic lunch and we will come back to the city center walking under the longest Portico in the world. The day after, we will go to Appennini's mountains (Poranceto - Camugnano) and have a two-hours-long-walk with snowshoes. Then, a great lunch together in a old traditional family run restaurant and an exploration of tactile finds in the Museum of the Wood: we will understand there how chestnut-growing is leaded and we will touch centenarian trees… According to their availability, we can even visit famous, blind sculptor Felice Tagliaferri's lab: Chiesa dell'Arte and join a guided tour at the Anteros Tactile Museum. In any case, itineraries' structure is flexible: we guarantee adaptability to every needs. b. You can let us know about what your are interested in and your availability: we will organize a totally customized tour based on you desires! Our service is complete and covers every features of your stay: logistical organization, guided tours, typhlo-pedagogic material, transportation, booking and especially leading service.
