Precautionary measures to experience Bologna safely

(This page was last edited on 14th June 2021)

Hotels and Other Accommodations

Hotels and B&Bs are open. Remember to book in advance so that your hosts can guarantee you a safe stay. Visitors can expect deep and frequent cleaning and enforced social distancing measures.

Restaurants and Bars

Bars and restaurants are open for lunch and dinner. At the indoor tables you can sit at most in six, unless you are living together. There are no limitations for the outdoor tables.

Catering is still allowed with home delivery and take-away without time limitations.

Don’t forget to book a table in advance as many places have reduced capacity in order to respect distancing of at least 1m between tables. The staff will always wear a mask (and so will you, entering, exiting and whenever you leave your table) and provide you with hand sanitizer.

Shops and Markets (Plus Commercial Activities)

All shops, markets and shopping centres are open and waiting for you. You are expected to wear a face mask before entering any of these settings.
Make sure you maintain a social distance of at least 1m between other patrons. Do your best to not linger inside shops for longer than necessary.

Moving around

Taxis, buses and trains run regularly and are sanitized every day. For a safe journey follow the directions given at the stops and on the vehicles and wear the mask. You can rent cars and bikes, but book in advance, so the vehicles will always be sanitized before being delivered to you.
