Bologna
By exploring the limitations of the human body and the restrictions posed by representing it in an architectural space, French choreographers Annie Vigier and Franck Apertet (les gens d’Uterpan) redefine the dance experience by overturning the role of dancer, choreographer and spectator and thus reinterpreting the performing arts. Just as Le Corbusier invented Modulor, an anthropometric scale of proportions which he used as a guideline for architecture, les gens d’Uterpan delegate action to others and reinvent their own vocabulary of movement and pause in relation to architectural characteristics with the purpose of generating a collective involvement. As part of ART CITY Bologna, they occupy the Pavilion with their “moving architecture” made up of people, bodies "infiltrated” in the flow of visitors, thus creating a sort of “paranoia” in spectators, who do not immediately and fully understand the function of other people’s actions.
