It is a mistery whether on October 31, 1517, Martin Luther truly posted on the door of the Castle Church in Wittenberg, the 95 theses he wrote against the practice of indulgences. But the fact remains that, on that very day, at that time in his early 30s, Martin Luther was about to change all of our lives, including his. What do we have left today, in our private or public daily lives of that historical event, that marked Europe so deeply? In what way did the theses draw our ways of thinking and living? Something vague and blurred, that acts powerfully under an unconscious secret determination, inspite of religious beliefs: atheists, catholics, reformed or simply none at all? Il giorno di un Dio, is an opportunity for refined stage director Cesare Lievi, to raise these questions in front of the audience.
