Bologna
“The only composition by Wagner I can listen to”: that's how old-school music fanatics defined Sigfried Idyll. Then Dvořák's picturesque Slavic Dances and Szymanowski's sensual First Concerto, which made the young Polish composer world-famous in 1924. The Chamber Orchestra of Europe, created as a youth ensemble under the wing of Claudio Abbado, has established itself internationally as one of the best symphonic orchestras. Sir Antonio Pappano has performed on all the most important podiums in the world, and with Janine Jansen has already recorded Bartók and Brahms' concertos for violin.
