Bologna
The carnival of Bologna is the «Children's Carnival», which is promoted by the Committee for the Petronian events and animated by the church and which will be held on Sunday 23rd and Tuesday 25th February. The carnival floats will follow the route «of the three squares»: starting from piazza VIII Agosto (departure at 2.30 pm), passing through via Indipendenza and piazza Nettuno to finally reach Piazza Maggiore. On Sunday 3rd March the carnival floats will be welcomed by the city authorities, including the cardinal Matteo Zuppi, and Balanzone (Alessandro Mandrioli). In preparation of the event, always on Sunday from 9.30 to 12.30 am in via Indipendenza, the puppets will be featured in the pedestrian area, with shows and workshops for children.
