Bologna welcomes the Great Departure of the Giro d'Italia with a series of cultural initiatives that describe the emotion of the most loved cycling race in our country, through the voices of authors, and the vision of film-makers, intellectuals and sports journalists. The events will begin starting from Monday 6th at 8 pm at the Cinema Lumière with Ciak si giro offered by the Cineteca di Bologna (Bologna Film Archive), which proposes an unforgettable stage race in the history of cinema, covering the event since its origins, to celebrate the departure of the Giro d'Italia from Bologna after a quarter of a century. More details on the Bologna Film Archive website The second stage is scheduled for Wednesday 8th at 5:30 pm and will take place in the hall of the Stabat Mater of the Archiginnasio Library (piazza Galvani 1), which will host the event "Aspettando la cronoscalata di San Luca, tutto quello che c'è da sapere sul Giro d'Italia" ("Waiting for the hill climb of San Luca, all you need to know about the Giro d'Italia") along with the presentation of the book by Luca Marianantoni, 110 anni in rosa (110 years in pink jersey), a book that has the ability to make us relive the legendary achievements of the most beloved champions together with the results of every single stage. The journalist Marino Bartoletti, the director of the Social policies Coop Alleanza 3.0 Dino Bomben, the president of APT Servizi Regione Emilia Romagna Davide Cassani, the councillor for tourism, culture and sport of the Municipality of Bologna Matteo Leporewill also be present. More details on the Archiginnasio Library website Finally, on Thursday 9th at 6 pm in the Sala Tassinari of Palazzo d'Accursio there will be the presentation of the book “Fausto Coppi. La grandezza del mito (Fausto Coppi. The grandeur of the myth)”, whose 100 years were celebrated by the Minerva publishing house with the homonymous photographic exhibition, with the aim of making the audience relive the most beautiful and significant moments of the life of the Great Champion as they had never been seen before. The exhibition, which was inaugurated the last 16th April, will be open until 12th May in the Sala Farnese of Palazzo d'Accursio.
