Piazza Carducci was named after the poet Giosuè Carducci who lived in the nearby house, a former church, from 1890 to 1907. At present, this square hosts two museums: Museo del Risorgimento (a Museum dedicated to the Italian battles for unification) and Museo di Casa Carducci (the house where Carducci used to live is now a Museum where books, letters and other objects once belonging to the poet, may be seen). The house looks out onto the square where there is a statue representing the poet and some girls standing as his works.
