General description
Amidst the chalky ridges and panoramic views of the Imola Apennines, a story will unfold, woven from walking, sunset and starry skies, in which nature, local traditions and stargazing intertwine throughout the entire route.
The walk will start from the Geological Museum in the Baronial Palace, in the historic centre of Tossignano, and head up towards the evocative ruins of the castle. From here, a sunset walk through the chalk formations will begin, offering spectacular views of the Riva di San Biagio and the surrounding Apennine hills.
At around 8.00 pm, the group will reach the Campo dei Mandorli in Campiuno, where participants will be welcomed by a local producer who will recount the journey of the almond, from harvest to the final product. We will start with the ripening stage, when the fruits naturally fall from the tree, before moving on to the selection of the best almonds and their preparation for further processing. We will then explore the techniques of shelling and processing, right through to the slow air-drying stage, which is essential for preserving their aroma and properties.
The experience will conclude with a tasting of the finished products, offering a close-up look at the result of this process and the deep connection between the local area and tradition.
This will be followed by a guided observation of the Moon and the starry sky, using a laser pointer and telescope.
At around 10.00 pm, the return journey to Tossignano will begin, with arrival scheduled for 11.00 pm.
