General description
A walk of approximately 6 km to discover a site that witnessed one of the bloodiest battles of the Second World War. Around the ruins of the fortress, we will explore the history of the men who fought here for six harrowing days, in the immediate aftermath of the breakthrough of the Gothic Line.
We will pause at the monument commemorating their sacrifice and visit the trenches they dug to defend this place—now a powerful symbol of our country’s liberation.
