The Cervia–Corno alle Scale stage of the 2026 Giro d’Italia will be the ninth stage of the race and will traverse the entire Bologna region, taking riders through the plains, hills, and the Apennines.
On May 17, 2026, the world’s top cyclists will compete in an exciting stage featuring a route that winds inland through villages, scenic climbs, and breathtaking natural landscapes, culminating in Corno alle Scale, one of the most iconic mountain destinations in the Bolognese Apennines.
The final climb to Corno alle Scale, a first-category mountain finish that takes the riders up to an altitude of 1,471 meters, will be tackled after Silla, Gaggio Montano, and Querciola; with its approximately 13.6 kilometers and an average gradient of 8.4%, it alternates between more rideable sections and tough, selective climbs; in the final 3 kilometers, gradients often exceed 10%, making the finish spectacular and decisive for the general classification contenders.
An unmissable event for cycling enthusiasts and for those wishing to discover the Bologna metropolitan area through sports, nature, and tourism, following closely one of the most anticipated stages of the 2026 Giro d’Italia.
