As tradition dictates, the Gruppo Astrofili Persicetani (GAPERS) once again invites everyone to one of the most eagerly awaited events of the summer: Persiceteidi 2025, three evenings dedicated to the spectacular Perseid meteor shower, better known in Italy as the "Shooting Stars of San Lorenzo".
From August 10 to 12, visitors are invited to the Astronomical Observatory of San Giovanni in Persiceto, near Bologna, to experience the summer sky at the peak of the Perseids. GAPERS' expert volunteers will guide participants in observing the constellations, visible planets and the dazzling trails of the meteors with the naked eye.
During the event, visitors will also have the opportunity to explore the Museum of the Sky and the Earth, home to a remarkable collection of meteorites and fossils, take part in physics demonstrations, and enjoy a fascinating show in the Planetarium, travelling through the stars and the myths inspired by them.
Three unforgettable evenings celebrating science, discovery and the beauty of the night sky, perfect for families and for anyone eager to experience the wonder of the universe.
Useful tip: bring a blanket or picnic mat to lie on the grass, comfortable clothing for the evening, and a good mosquito repellent.
