On Wednesday March 25, 2026, at 8:30 PM, LabOratorio di San Filippo Neri hosts the concert Le voci dei padri.
Saverio Lanza, following the experience of the 2007 album MadreLingua, returns to exploring the realm of the voice, investigating an intimate sphere that speaks of a semi-silent male universe, in the shadows, from which memories, nocturnal gestures, and the complexities of being a man—ever richer in nuance than appearances suggest—emerge. And while it is now clear that both mothers and fathers lull children to sleep, it is still unusual to hear lullabies sung by men.
«Singing a lullaby confronts us with ourselves; it connects our past to what will become our future; it makes us feel like simple bearers of a feeling that is passed down, alive, from generation to generation, in the intimacy of a room. I believe the time has come, for us men, to acknowledge this deep and tender dimension»
