Act One of the First Opera Written by Richard Wagner between 1854 and 1856, which together with L’oro del Reno, Sigrifido and Il crepuscolo degli dei la Tetralogia de L’anello del Niebelungo.
Taken from Scandinavian Nordic mythology, the Valkyrie is a female being in the service of Odin (King of the Gods) who chooses the most valiant warriors, fallen in battle, bringing them to Valhalla (the home of Odin).
