The Towers by Kenzo Tange, in the square of the Fiera District of Bologna, light up with a spectacular video mapping to the rhythm of the percussions of Pléïades, an amazing sound construction by the composer-architect Iannis Xenakis.
The imposing towers designed by the famous Japanese architect become a majestic setting for a site-specific performance that combines music, dance and video mapping. Bodies in motion on sound tracks designed by the most diverse percussion instruments, in the succession of music by Steve Reich, Casey Cangelosi, Minoru Miki, Simone Rubino, J. S. Bach, up to the notes of Xenakis, inspired by the constellation of the Pleiades.
This is the sound cosmos in which the video artist Luca Agnani moves, merging celestial motifs with the soaring architectural geometries of the square. After the spectacular projections on the facade of the Basilica of San Petronio in Piazza Maggiore, the Pleiadi Bologna Festival project lights up a new square in Bologna.
