Musical narration with Piero Mioli.
Greek born in New York but Italian by musicality, Maria Anna Cecilia Sofia Kalogheropoulou, aka Maria Callas, marked an epoch with her singing: for some twenty years she performed all possible repertoires, from Gluck to Wagner, from light soprano to dramatic, from Bellini's Romanticism to Giordano's Verismo.
100 years since Maria's birth, we will go in search of that essentiality for which she has been called 'divine', an opera singer specialising in characters such as Euripides' Medea, Cherubini and Pasolini, but also Norma, Lucia, Violetta, Gioconda, Tosca, up to her incredible Sonnambula: disadvantaged by an unsuitable voice colour, she became and remained the best. These are the pillars of her dazzling career, loved and hated, just like her characters: dramatic, almost borderline, 'diabolic' in fact.
