On Tuesday, July 21, 2026, the concert by Kaito Winse for voice, traditional flutes, tama and mouth bow opens the (s)Nodi - Festival of Unusual Music at the Museum of Music of Bologna.
Raised in the village of Lankoué, Burkina Faso, Kaito is one of today's finest representatives of the jeli (or griot) tradition, combining a powerful, captivating voice with exceptional storytelling skills and a magnetic stage presence.
A versatile musician, he plays a wide range of traditional instruments, including the calabash, mouth bow, Fulani flute, toutlé and tama, the talking drum capable of imitating the human voice.
His inspiration is deeply rooted in the village where he grew up: proverbs, words, music and dance become the living substance of his performances, accompanying audiences on their own journey through life.
