Within Bologna Festival 2018 - Il Nuovo L'Antico - "Itinerari Vocali", five concerts dedicated to vocal literature from the Middle Ages to the end of the nineteenth century. ORATORIO DI SAN FILIPPO NERI Tuesday 9 October 2018 at 8,30pm ITINERARI VOCALI Monica Piccinini soprano Simone Vallerotonda tiorba, chitarra barocca «Di sangue asperso» Music by Claudio Monteverdi, Hieronimus Kapsberger, Bellerofonte Castaldi, Alessandro Grandi, Barbara Strozzi, Maurizio Cazzati, Ferdinando Valdambrini romano, Tarquinio Merula The concert is dedicated to the "Spiritual" in the first half of the 17th Century. Monica Piccinini is a "Bel canto" singer who is also well-versed in the "recitar cantando". Simone Vallerotonda is a musicologist and also a renowned theorbo, lute and guitar player. The concert includes instrumental (capricci, toccate, passacaglie) and vocal pieces.
