I SING, You SING! – An Unusual Concert

The fourth edition of MikrokosmInFestival – AD ALTA VOCE! continues, and for 2026 it is presented under the title “Choral Interweavings: Seeds of Encounter”, confirming its mission to promote connection through choral music. The second event in the program is scheduled for Sunday, April 19, 2026 at 5:00 PM at the San Colombano Museum in Bologna and is titled “I SING, You SING! – An Unusual Concert”.

The event stands out for its interactive nature: not a traditional concert, but a participatory experience in which the audience will be actively involved. The choir will guide attendees in learning some pieces, which will then be performed together, turning listening into a moment of sharing and musical practice.

The concert will feature the Coro Ad Maiora – La Bottega della Voce of Bologna, conducted by Michele Napolitano, with the participation of Michele Barbi on percussion.

The musical program spans different eras and styles, from Gregorian chant to the English Renaissance, reaching contemporary works, with compositions by A. Edenroth, J. Farmer, J. MacMillan, Th. Ravenscroft, G. Lafarge, and P. Philippe, alongside spirituals and folk songs from various traditions.

I SING, You SING! represents an open invitation to participate, in line with the festival’s theme, presenting choral practice as a space for encounter, mutual listening, and community building.

The event, in collaboration with Fondazione Carisbo and Opera Laboratori, within the framework of the Genus Bononiae project, is the second concert of the series MikrokosmInFestival (4th edition) – AD ALTA VOCE! Choral Interweavings: Seeds of Encounter, organized by Mikrokosmos APS (Artistic Director M. Napolitano), held under the patronage of the Municipality of Bologna and with the support of Aerco - Emilia-Romagna Choir Association.
