In October 2026, the 800th anniversary of the death (“transitus”) of St Francis of Assisi will be commemorated. To mark the occasion, the vocal ensemble Flos musicae, made up of professional singers under 30, will perform in Bologna on 17 October at 9:00 pm in the church of San Giovanni in Monte.
The programme includes 13th-century laude from the Laudario di Cortona, accompanied by the instrumental ensemble “eXaQuier”, one of Italy’s leading groups specialising in medieval music, as well as Franciscan-themed compositions by F. Poulenc and O. Messiaen.
