Historical re-enactment of carnival celebrations in the second half of the 19th century. Entertainment, games and dances of 19th century Bologna: 80 dancers from 8cento APS in historical dress re-enact a ritual which after the unification of Italy reflected modern bourgeois and popular identities.
In 1868 the Carnival, for the first time, was no longer organized by the municipality but by the "Società del Dottor Balanzone". With the participation of: - Doctor Balanzone by Michele Zaccaria from Burattini a Bologna APS - the Venetian Masks of the Maskerrando association - Federico Marangoni and Matteo Marchesini of the historical fencing association "Società dei Vai" - the Musicians of the Petroniani flag-wavers of the City of Bologna

4.00 pm arrival of the processions in Piazza Minghetti, start of the demonstration
