Bologna
Gorizia, as we know, is situated on the border between two worlds, the Italian and the Slavic ones. Twenty-seven years ago, in this two-faced city that looks west and east, Alexander Gadjiev was born, a Slovenian mother and a Russian father, both pianists. In November last year, however, his destiny took a radical turn: Gadjiev became the first Italian pianist, sixty years after Maurizio Pollini, to stand on the virtual podium of the Warsaw Chopin Competition. "Tout Chopin", obviously his recital, with the logical "glossa" of Schumann's Fantasia op.17.
