Bologna
On Saturday 2 December at the San Leonardo Theatre, take part in a journey through a century of history of the Italian popular dance par excellence: ballo liscio.
A multi-ethnic orchestra, made up of some of the most representative musicians of the ethnic, classical and jazz scene, revisits, with rigour and unscrupulousness, the melodies and rhythms that have made entire generations of Italians dance, from the classical echoes of Carlo Brighi to the band atmospheres of Concerto Cantoni to the jazzy openings of Gorni Kramer, without forgetting the ethnic contaminations of the regional, Bolognese variants and the Romagna sounds of Secondo Casadei.
An opportunity to rediscover the evocative melodic structure, instrumental virtuosity, fascinating timbre combinations and the most hidden and seductive aspects of a musical genre that is undeservedly underestimated.
