Every year, for about two weeks, the city's canals are dried, or rather the power supply to the ancient waterways of the city of Bologna to be able to carry out maintenance work useful to meet the needs determined by the rains and snowfall in the winter period. Canali di Bologna takes the opportunity to organize guided tours of the Bologna underground! Through these routes, visitors will be shown the unexplored corners of the canal underground in the heart of Bologna departing from the Cavaticcio hydroelectric power station up to the Guazzatoio on Via Augusto Righi. The funds raised thanks to this cycle of visits are reinvested by Canali di Bologna in favor of valorisation projects that change periodically. In recent years the funds raised have been destined to the Lighting and Night Valorization Project of the Reno Canal in the stretch discovered between Via Malcontenti and Via Oberdan.
