Siamo fritti: a journey through the flavours of Italy

Crispy, golden and irresistible: frying is an art shared by all Italian regions, each with its own specialities and traditions. To celebrate this great national passion, from Saturday 27 to Sunday 28 September, from 12:00 to 15:00 and from 18:30 to 22:30, Grand Tour Italia, in Bologna, presents Siamo Fritti – Un viaggio fra i sapori d'Italia (We Are Fried – A journey through the flavours of Italy), a unique gastronomic event dedicated to the best fried specialities of the Italian tradition.

A journey through the tradition of Italian fried food: from gnocco fritto and tortellini and piadine, strictly fried in Emilia-Romagna, to olive all'ascolana from the Marche region, from panelle and arancini from Sicily to panzerotti from Puglia, from Cuoppo napoletano, a paper cone filled with mixed fried foods such as zeppoline, pizzette and potato croquettes, to Lazio's fried cod, fried polentine, and how could we forget the sweet fried Seadas typical of Sardinia, filled with fresh cheese and covered with honey, and so on: each region brings its own unmistakable crispy flavour to the table.

The event will allow visitors to discover the extraordinary variety of Italian fried food, accompanying the tastings with music, entertainment and a convivial atmosphere perfect for the whole family.
