Closer – Becoming the city

From May 20 to July 16, 2026, the Esprit Nouveau Pavilion in Bologna hosts the third edition of Closer – Becoming the City, the contemporary art programme conceived and curated by Amerigo Mariotti and Giorgia Tronconi for Adiacenze.

Exhibitions, installations, performances, workshops, concerts and talks continue to explore the relationship between art, communities and urban transformations.

• May 20, 2026
  • 6:30 pm: opening of the artwork Notte in bianco by Serena Vestrucci, on view until July 16
  • 7:00 pm: opening and activation of the installation Rilevatore di benessere del vicinato per ottimizzare la tranquillità di un luogo by Matteo Vettorello, on view until June 6
  • 9:00 pm: Libere Frequenze, a concert of electroacoustic improvisations curated by Leonardo Vita, with Andrea Geremia, Dino Piccinno, Matilde Sabato and Leonardo Vita
    
    
• May 22–24, 2026
  • Il peso dell'aria by Daniele Catalli: performance on May 22 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm; installation on May 23 and 24 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm
  • From 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm: Ludoteca, an open play area with Dixit and other board games, as part of the PLAY Festival del Gioco and in collaboration with Asmodee Italia

  • From 10:00 am to 1:00 pm: La città dei sogni, a drawing workshop for a new Dixit deck led by artist Daniele Catalli, as part of the PLAY Festival del Gioco and in collaboration with Asmodee Italia and the Museum of Dreams. Free participation with booking via email
