Tra Ottocento e Novecento (Between the 19th and 20th Centuries)

From September 18, the exhibition rooms of Casa Saraceni, headquarters of Fondazione Carisbo, host the exhibition Between the 19th and 20th Centuries, dedicated to works from the collection of lawyer Aldo Ciulli. The exhibition will be open until November 29, 2026.

The Ciulli collection reflects the taste of an unconventional collector, guided less by the search for masterpieces than by a consistent cultural sensitivity and personal relationships with artists. The collection reveals a clear preference for figurative art rooted in realism, far removed both from the ideological extremes of the post-war period and from the most radical avant-garde movements.

This approach can be seen in paintings by Luigi Bertelli, Mosè Bianchi, Silvestro Lega, Filippo Palizzi, Telemaco Signorini and Pietro Fragiacomo, united by their attention to landscape, everyday life and a sensitive yet measured vision of nature.

Moving into the 20th century, the collection includes artists such as Lorenzo Viani, Filippo de Pisis, Felice Carena and Carlo Carrà, while maintaining a strong connection with a tradition that, although renewed over time, continues to engage in dialogue with the past.
