Bologna
Museo Davia Bargellini hosts a crib from a private collection, made by the Bologna factory Minghetti (1850-1989). It points out a less known activity of this famous manufacture, mainly popular for its precious majolica, highly appreciated in Europe and in the United States too. The exhibition La tradizione che continua: un presepio della Manifattura Minghetti (The tradition goes on: a crib from Minghetti Manufacture) aims to recall the production of crib statues to which Minghetti family also dedicated its activity, bringing the attention on a local artisan and artistic tradition. The exhibition is curated by Nicoletta Barberini Mengoli and Mark Gregory D’Apuzzo in collaboration with Fernando and Gioia Lanzi (Centro Studi per la Cultura Popolare).
