On Thursday April 9, 2026 at 5:00 pm, at the Complesso del Baraccano in Bologna, the exhibition The Memory of the Future / Glossary of Peace.
Bombs, dancing, Littorio youth, play, roundups, shelter, Pippo, bread…
The paradox of being children during a conflict takes shape in a glossary, built from the recurring words of those who witnessed the Second World War and from the images of those who reinterpret them today.
The encounter between the “Voices of Peace” of the witnesses and the students of the Illustration for Publishing and Comics Languages two-year programs at the Academy of Fine Arts of Bologna becomes an opportunity to exercise the right to memory through an exhibition path that also serves as an educational tool, among testimonies, photographs, drawings, and memories, offering insight into the perspective of those who experienced childhood between 1943 and 1955.
The exhibition is curated by Sara Colaone and Francesca Vaccari.
In collaboration with the Academy of Fine Arts of Bologna, the International Center for the Didactics of History and Heritage - UNIBO and AISO / Italian Oral History Association.
With the patronage of Quartiere Santo Stefano and the support of the Fondazione del Monte di Bologna e Ravenna.
