On Sunday 3 December 2023, the refurbishment of the room dedicated to Guercino and his pupils will be inaugurated with the exhibition of the cycle of ten frescoes representing the theme of Rinaldo and Armida, inspired by Torquato Tasso's Gerusalemme Liberata.
For the occasion, at 3 pm: 00 Lorenzo Lorenzini, Director of the Pinacoteca Civica di Cento and Valeria Tassinari and President of the Centro Studi Internazionali Il Guercino, in the presence of the Assessora alla Valorizzazione Museale del Comune di Pieve di Cento Francesca Tassinari and the Assessora alla Cultura del Comune di Cento Silvia Bidoli, will illustrate the historical and artistic aspects of this important pictorial cycle and the valorisation and promotion actions put in place by the municipal administrations in a synergy aimed at promoting the figure of the Cento master, with the objective of highlighting his cultural and artistic importance and the potential tourism spin-off.
