From March 21 to 27, 2026, the works of Syrian artist Fida Alwaer will be exhibited at Passaporta al Treno della Barca in Bologna.
During the exhibition, it will be possible to purchase original paintings and prints of the artworks.
I have settled my account with life. I sacrificed my dreams, my love for my family. My love for my country. I chose to survive, together with my daughters.
These words by Fida Alwaer pave the way for her art: a practice that intertwines color, memory, and lived experience, giving shape to stories of resistance, rights, and dignity.
Fida Alwaer is an artist originally from Homs, Syria, who now lives in Bologna. Trained at the Institute of Fine Arts in her city, she works with oil painting, acrylic, and charcoal on canvas and paper. Her artistic practice is intertwined with education and social work: through art, Fida addresses themes related to human rights, with particular attention to women's rights. Over the years, she has exhibited in various international shows and artistic projects, pursuing a research path that combines artistic expression with social commitment.
