The Plains
An ensemble of 19 bronze sculptures by Giorgio de Chirico with prestigious graphic works and installation of light panels from the Metaphysical Museum (Museo Documentario della Metafisica) in Ferrara. In order to present an extensive collection of 19 bronze statues by Giorgio de Chirico recently acquired by the MAGI’900 permanent collection together with prestigious graphic works, the museum has devised a unique set up that correlates the bi-dimensional representations to their three-dimensional depiction. The artwork, on display together with a preparatory plaster work, paintings, drawings, graphic works and two rare illustrated editions of John’s Apocalypse, are exhibited publicly in a set up made particularly intense by an installation featuring light panels from the Metaphysical Museum (Museo Documentario della Metafisica) in Ferrara, an innovative “virtual” museum created by Franco Farina in the early 1980s which no longer exists.
